Led Zeppelin II is the second studio album by the English rock band Led Zeppelin. The album was released on October 22, 1969, in the United States and on October 31, 1969, in the United Kingdom. Recording took place at various locations in the U.S. and the U.K. from January through August 1969. It was the first Led Zeppelin album on which sound engineer Eddie Kramer worked. Led Zeppelin II is characterized by the blues-style of the songs and the guitar riffs that served as the foundation for its powerful sound. It is widely regarded as the band’s hardest-sounding album.
