La Maison Chapoutier ist zweifellos einer der bekanntesten Namen im Rhône-Tal und produziert seine prestigeträchtigsten Flaschen unter der Appellation Hermitage. Der Betrieb erstreckt sich über fast 300 Hektar Weinberge, die biodynamisch bewirtschaftet werden. Bis heute ist dies der größte Weinberg Frankreichs, der diese Anbaumethode seit der Zertifizierung im Jahr 1999 übernommen hat. Chapoutier ist oft der Letzte, der seine Reben erntet, um eine optimale Reife der Trauben zu erzielen. Chapoutiers Know-how hat sich auch auf andere Weinberge ausgeweitet: Provence, Beaujolais, Roussillon, Champagne, Alsace, Portugal, aber auch der Süden Australiens.
Die Familiengeschichte begann im Jahr 1808, doch erst 1879 zeichnen sich ihre Konturen ab, als Polydor Chapoutier einige Hektar Reben kaufte, um Weinbauern zu werden und zu handeln. Seitdem haben sieben Generationen aufeinandergefolgt, bis hin zu Michel Chapoutier. Dieser übergibt nun das Zepter an seine Kinder Mathilde (im Handel und in der Kommunikation) und Maxime (in den Reben und im Keller). L'ermitage blanc Chante Alouette de la Maison Chapoutier wird aus der Rebsorte Marsanne hergestellt, auf Reben, die unter dem gleichnamigen Weißhaus stehen; die Trauben stammen aus drei unterschiedlichen Parzellen: „Le Méal“ ist ein Boden aus fluvio-glazialen Alluvien, „Les Murets“ bildet sich auf granitischem Sand, und „Chante-Alouette“ liegt auf Löss mit einer ton-kalkhaltigen Schicht. Die Lese wird zu einem Drittel in neuen Fässern und dem Rest in Stahltanks vinifiziert, dann läuft eine etwa einjährige Reifezeit. Dieser außergewöhnliche Weißwein entfaltet komplexe und subtile Aromen von Quitte, Ingwer, Honig, Akazie mit einer Note von Linde. Mit bemerkenswerter Fülle am Gaumen, unterstrichen von einem sehr persistierenden Mandelabgang, kann er mehrere Jahrzehnte lang gelagert werden.
Maison Chapoutier, undoubtedly one of the best-known names in the Rhone Valley, produces its most prestigious bottles on the Hermitage appellation. The estate extends over nearly 300 hectares of vineyards converted into biodynamics. To date, it is the largest vineyard in France to have adopted this cultural mode since obtaining certification in 1999. Chapoutier is often the last to harvest his vines, in order to obtain an optimal maturity of the grapes. Chapoutier's know-how has also extended to other vineyards: Provence, Beaujolais, Roussillon, Champagne, Alsace, Portugal but also the south of Australia.
The family history began in 1808, but it was really in 1879 that its contours were outlined, when Polydor Chapoutier bought a few hectares of vineyards to become a wine breeder and merchant. Since then, seven generations have succeeded each other, up to Michel Chapoutier. He now passes the hand to his children Mathilde (in commerce and communication) and Maxime (in the vineyards and the cellar). Together, they perpetuate the family heritage with the desire to highlight the typicalities of the great Rhodan terroirs.

About the vintage
The white hermitage Chante Alouette de la Maison Chapoutier is made from the Marsan grape variety, on vines located under the white house of the same name; the grapes come from three different plots: "Le Méal" is a soil of fluvio-glacial alluvium, "Les Murets" is formed on granitic arena, and "Chante-Alouette" is based on loess with a clay-limestone layer. The harvest is vinified for a third in new parts and the rest in vats, then aged for about a year. This exceptional white wine develops complex and subtle aromas of coin, ginger, honey, acacia with a note of lime. With a remarkable richness in the mouth, underlined by a very persistent almond finish, it can be kept for several decades.
