Condition Report
This vintage Doxa is presented in Grade A+ condition, particularly attractive considering its age.

The chrome-plated case is well preserved overall, with light surface marks and minor signs of age and use. The elegant case profile and characteristic period proportions remain clearly defined.
The silver-tone dial is remarkably attractive, retaining excellent legibility and much of its original vintage appearance. Light marks and subtle signs of ageing are visible under close inspection, consistent with the age of the watch.

The stylized Arabic numerals and outer minute track remain crisp and visually striking, while the dark hands and small red accent near the top of the dial create an elegant contrast.
The acrylic crystal is present and shows signs consistent with normal use.
The Swiss mechanical movement appears visually clean and retains the important DOXA and SWISS MADE markings.
The watch is fitted with a generic dark leather strap.

Story & Heritage
Founded in Le Locle, Switzerland, in 1889, Doxa became known for producing reliable and technically accomplished Swiss watches long before the brand became internationally associated with its famous diving watches.

During the first half of the 20th century, resistance to magnetism became an increasingly relevant feature in mechanical wristwatches. Magnetic fields could affect the delicate components of a mechanical movement, particularly the hairspring, resulting in significant changes in timekeeping accuracy.

The “ANTI-MAGNETIC” designation on the dial therefore represented more than a decorative inscription: it communicated a practical technical quality valued by watch buyers of the period.
This example captures the understated elegance of mid-century Swiss watchmaking particularly well. Its 34.5 mm case, beautifully proportioned silver dial, unusual Arabic typography and signed Doxa mechanical movement give the watch a strong historical identity.
