Introduction
This is a Seiko Scuba 200m Ref. 5H25-6000, a distinctive late-1980s Japanese quartz sports watch featuring a champagne-tone dial, gold-tone rotating bezel and two-tone bracelet.
The combination of its substantial diver-style case, large luminous hour markers, date display and characteristic gold-and-silver finish gives this model a particularly recognizable period appearance.
Historical & Collector Value
The 5H25-6000 belongs to Seiko’s 200m quartz diver line introduced around 1988, and the reference is documented as one of the earliest models using the 5H25 movement. The Seiko Guy
The case-back serial number appears to read 843011. Based on Seiko’s serial-number convention and the known introduction period of this reference, this example is believed to date from circa April 1988.
Its champagne dial, gold-tone bezel and matching two-tone bracelet create a very characteristic late-1980s aesthetic, making it an interesting vintage Seiko for collectors looking beyond the more commonly encountered automatic diver references.
