About the estate
Moric is the project of Roland Velich, one of the most respected winemakers in Central Europe and a defining figure for Austrian Blaufränkisch. Based in Burgenland, he works exclusively with old vines and high-altitude terroirs, applying a minimalist approach in the cellar to let the grape and the land speak.

The Moric Reserve is the flagship of the range: a selection from the finest old-vine Blaufränkisch parcels. The 2012 vintage, one of the most successful in Burgenland (92/100), delivers beautiful fruit concentration, elegant structure and remarkable minerality. Tasting notes
Deep garnet. Complex nose of ripe dark fruits, cherries, gentle spice and floral hints. Full, silky palate with well-integrated tannins, lively acidity and a characteristic peppery, mineral finish. A serious gastronomic wine.
Cellaring
At peak drinking now, with further potential of 5–10 years under good cellar conditions.
