Die Serie ist eine Allegorie auf den inneren Konflikt des Einzelnen, denjenigen, der sich in Selbstzweifeln und Angst verloren fühlt. Erfüllung in Form von Schwimmen ist leicht erreichbar, doch für die Figur ist sie Meilen entfernt, schlicht unerreichbar.
Auf Originalstandorten aufgenommen. Vollständig im Kinefilmverfahren umgesetzt. Nichts in der Nachbearbeitung hinzugefügt.

Kürzlich wurde die Public Art Abteilung der schwedischen Västra Götaland- Regierung zum Sammler der Reihe (Offline-Galerie-Editionen).
Die Serie wurde in NYC, Tokyo, London und Paris sowie in weiteren Städten ausgestellt. Sie wurde in einer Vielzahl von Publikationen veröffentlicht, darunter UK TIMES und THE GUARDIAN.

Elena Paraskevas Werke befinden sich in institutionellen und unternehmenseigenen Sammlungen, darunter die Public Art Abteilung Schwedens (Västra Götaland Government), das Boston Hospital, USA (große 500 cm Installation am Eingang zur Abteilung Kinderkrebs), die Australian National University, das Thalassa Museum, Affinity (Serif) und weitere institutionelle sowie unternehmerische Sammlungen.

Ihre Arbeiten wurden im EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT in Brüssel sowie auf bedeutenden Biennalen und Galerien in NYC, Paris, Tokyo, London, Dubai, São Paulo (Brasilien), Wien, Barcelona, München, Kuala Lumpur, Florenz, Frankfurt, Málaga, Linz, Graz, Siena u.a. ausgestellt. Im Jahr 2026 wählte Magnum-Fotograf Alec Soth persönlich ihre Arbeiten aus, um sie in Griechenland auszustellen, im Auftrag des griechischen Kulturministeriums.

Sie wurde von vier verschiedenen internationalen Fotografie-Gesellschaften zur International Photographer of the Year (2024 / 2023 / 2021 / 2018) ernannt.

Sie hat internationale Anerkennung und bedeutende Auszeichnungen von Hasselblad Masters, World Masters of Photography, LensCulture, Aesthetica, Prix de la Photographie Paris, International Photography Awards (IPA), Neutral Density Awards und vielen weiteren erhalten.

Seit 2021 dient sie als Jurorin für das FLORIDA MUSEUM OF PHOTOGRAPHIC ARTS — bewertet neben Kuratoren des Fotografiska Museums und des Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography — und als Jurorin für mehrere internationale Fotowettbewerbe jährlich. Sie ist zudem ehemalige Adobe-Instruktorin und Botschafterin.

Ihre Fotografien wurden in Smithsonian Magazine, The Guardian (UK & Australien), The Times, Vogue.it, Aesthetica, LensCulture, PDN, Photography Masterclass und zahlreichen weiteren internationalen Publikationen veröffentlicht.
