Dial and Hands
The striking and well-preserved dial features a beautiful blue gradient vignette finish that draws the eye inward. Applied faceted indices with gold-tone accents provide excellent depth and catch the light beautifully, matching the applied Seiko and LM logos. A framed day and date window sits cleanly at the 3 o'clock position, displaying the English and Kanji day wheel. The surface remains clean with no visible staining or damage. The gold-tone baton hands feature black central stripes and exhibit excellent preservation, showing a clean finish with no visible oxidation or corrosion.

Case and Crystal
The stainless steel case displays honest vintage wear, featuring brushed upper surfaces that transition smoothly to polished flanks. The edges remain reasonably defined, while the surfaces show light scratches and scuffs consistent with age and normal wear. A smooth polished bezel ring surrounds the dial, exhibiting light surface scratches consistent with the rest of the case. The unsigned crown is partially recessed into the case flank at the 3 o'clock position. The faceted crystal remains clear with no significant scratches or chips visible, its geometric edges visible at certain angles to enhance the dial beneath.

Movement
Inside beats the Seiko caliber 5606A automatic movement, featuring 25 jewels. The movement shows clean plates and a clean rotor, with no visible corrosion, oxidation, or damaged screw heads, alongside clear engravings reading SEIKO 25 JEWELS JAPAN 5606 A. The timegrapher recorded -10-15s/dayMovement Serviced on 14/9/2026. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. The movement was serviced on 14 September 2026.

Strap
The watch is fitted with a black leather strap featuring white contrast stitching. The strap appears new or very lightly used, providing a comfortable and attractive complement to the blue dial.

Condition
Excellent vintage condition. The movement was serviced on 14 September 2026 and, supported by the recorded timegrapher result, is performing very strongly. The dial and hands are exceptionally well-preserved and clean. The stainless steel case and polished bezel show light, honest scratches and scuffs consistent with normal use, retaining reasonably defined edges. The faceted crystal is clear and free of significant marks.

Dimensions
The case size is 36 mm, excluding the crown.

Remarks
This Lord Matic is highly attractive with its blue vignette dial and the dynamic visual effect of its faceted crystal. Combined with the desirable English and Kanji day display and its reliable automatic caliber, it presents a wonderful opportunity to acquire a distinctly 1970s Seiko design in beautiful condition.

History
Introduced in the late 1960s, the Seiko Lord Matic line represented a significant pillar of the brand's mechanical catalog, positioned just below the King Seiko and Grand Seiko families. Powered by the advanced 5600 series of automatic calibers, the Lord Matic offered precise timekeeping, a thinner profile, and sophisticated day and date complications. During the 1970s, Seiko experimented heavily with case geometry, faceted crystals, and vibrant colored dials, creating a distinct design language that remains highly appreciated by collectors today. The caliber 5606 is recognized for its smooth operation and represents an important era of Japanese mechanical watchmaking.
