Auktion: Japanische dekorative Kunst

Ein schönes und substanzielles japanisches Holz-Ausstellungsständer/Display aus Walnuss? Actually it's Wakasa-nuri lacquer. Wait keep term Wakasa-nuri. Let's craft.

A beautiful and substantial Japanese wooden display stand finished in traditional Wakasa-nuri (若狭塗) lacquer.

Wakasa-nuri is a distinctive Japanese lacquer tradition originating in the Wakasa region of Fukui Prefecture. This piece displays an exceptionally intricate surface composed of deep black, reddish-brown, amber and warm golden tones, creating a rich network of organic, almost marble-like patterns.

The elaborate layered decoration gives the surface remarkable visual depth. Viewed closely, countless irregular lines and subtle details emerge from beneath the glossy lacquer, producing an appearance reminiscent of natural stone, flowing water or an abstract landscape.

The large rectangular stand has elegantly curved ends that form low feet, creating a refined and distinctly Japanese silhouette. At 48 cm in length, it has a substantial presence and is particularly suitable for displaying a large Japanese vase, bronze vessel, sculpture, bonsai or other treasured art object.

The underside is predominantly finished in black, while the visible outer surfaces continue the richly patterned Wakasa lacquer decoration.

The detailed close-up photographs show the remarkable complexity of the lacquer surface and its subtle variations in color and texture.
