Jethro Tull – Under Wraps
The Japanese pressing of Under Wraps (catalog number WWS-81685) was released by Chrysalis Records in 1984 as part of the Japanese “Highest Energy & Eternal Beauty” series.
This series featured international rock releases distributed in Japan with high-quality vinyl pressings and distinctive Japanese packaging.

Japanese LP editions from the 1980s are appreciated by collectors for their excellent pressing quality, quiet surfaces, and carefully produced inserts.


Released in 1984, Under Wraps represents one of the most experimental phases in Jethro Tull’s career. The album marked a departure from their earlier folk-progressive sound and incorporated synthesizers, electronic drums, and modern production techniques.

It was also notable because much of the instrumentation was performed primarily by Ian Anderson and keyboardist Peter-John Vettese, reflecting a streamlined studio approach.

The record captures the influence of 1980s new wave and electronic rock, while still retaining elements of the band’s progressive style.
