Beautiful vintage hand-woven rug, featuring a richly detailed traditional floral design from Oltenia Region of Romania.
The black and burgundy background is decorated with colorful stylized flowers and botanical motifs in shades of yellow, pink, turquoise, green, and is framed by black borders with decorative fringe along the shorter sides.
The rug is a charming example of traditional Romanian folk weaving, with an authentic vintage character, made of Wool on a cotton warp, hand-woven by groups of women from Smîrdan village, province of Dolj, on a traditional loom. Its natural woven texture with decorative fringe is perfect for adding character, color, and a touch of Eastern European folk art to a larger interior: living room, bedroom or eclectic interior.
The rug is in an overall good condition, little flaws and signs of the use and time according to it’s age. It is between 40 und 50 years old.

The rug has never been used and is brand new.
For year long preservation moth-repellent solutions have been and are used.
