Five “Real Briar” Pipes – Unsmoked New Old Stock – Carefully Checked and Presented

An attractive collection of five unused briar pipes bearing the “Real Briar” marking, offered together as one lot.

Discovered among a larger collection, these pipes show no evidence of having been smoked. Their chambers and internal airways were exceptionally clean upon inspection; one even retained a few traces of briar sawdust from manufacture. They are therefore offered as new old stock (NOS): unused pipes that have spent time in storage.

The briar is a particularly pleasant surprise, displaying attractive grain and warm natural tones. Together, they make a charming collection for anyone who appreciates the understated appeal of traditional briar pipes.

Each pipe has been individually checked for stem fit and airway clearance, hygienically cleaned, polished and waxed. This preparation was carried out with respect for their unused condition.

Some examples show light storage-related marks. These are not freshly manufactured pipes, and minor cosmetic signs of age and handling should be expected. Please examine the photographs for the individual condition of each pipe.

Their precise manufacturer and production dates are unknown; “Real Briar” is the marking present, rather than a confirmed maker’s name. “Real Briar” pipes were made both in France and Italy but looking at the shapes, they are probably manufactured in France.

A lovely opportunity to acquire five unused briar pipes together—ready for their first bowls, or to remain part of a collection.

Length between 14 and 15 cm.
Chambers: diameter between 18 and 19 mm. Depth between 35 and 40 mm.
