Vom Verkäufer bereitgestellte Beschreibung
Teotihuacan Terracotta Head with Elongated Face – 3rd to 7th Century AD
A Teotihuacan terracotta head fragment with an elongated face, a high rounded forehead and a surviving section of the neck. The facial features are defined by narrow horizontal eyes, a projecting nose, full lips and a prominent chin, with lateral projections marking the ears. Its restrained modelling contrasts with the more elaborate headdresses found on other Teotihuacan figurines. The grey-brown surface is unevenly covered with lighter deposits, and wear has softened parts of the face and exposed the ceramic texture. The fragment is presented on a later square wooden mount. It is accompanied by a copy of the original typewritten document signed by Dr. Dieter Eisleb of the Staatliche Museen Preußischer Kulturbesitz, Berlin from the 20th of March 1984.
Material: Terracotta; later wooden display mount
Dimensions: 10 x 10 cm
Weight: 132 gr
Provenance: Adquired in Germany from an auction house in 2026.
