MiLo – „Fractured Structure“
Acrylic on canvas
A pale, layered ground is crossed by a network of fine, dark lines. Some run almost straight across the surface, while others bend and shift, creating an irregular structure that feels both ordered and unstable. Through the middle, a heavier, broken line cuts across the quieter marks, giving the composition its strongest point of contrast.
The surface is scratched and marked, with traces of earlier gestures visible beneath the pale paint. These variations give the work a sense of age and movement, as though its lines have been worn, uncovered or redrawn over time. The painting can be hung in any direction, allowing the composition to take on a different balance as it is turned.
About the Artist
MiLo (1976) is an Amsterdam-based abstract painter whose practice has moved from expressive action painting towards geometric structures and richly worked surfaces. His work explores construction and erosion, urban strata and cosmic maps, with recurring themes of memory and transformation. MiLo’s paintings have been collected throughout Europe, with more than 900 works sold.
