Robert Doisneau - Paris und die Pariser - 1955

BEAUTIFUL, EARLY BOOK from 1955 by famous French photographer Robert Doisneau (1912-1994) who was a champion of humanist photography and, with Henri Cartier-Bresson, a pioneer of photojournalism and who is famous for "La Banlieu de Paris" (1949). BREATH-TAKING PHOTOGRAVURE PRINTING. The book is showing some his best photos, of course also his 1950 image "Le baiser de l'hôtel de ville" (The Kiss by the City Hall), a photograph of a couple kissing on a busy Parisian street. Robert Doisneau was appointed a Chevalier (Knight) of the Legion of Honour in 1984 by then French president, François Mitterrand. The first German edition came out one year after the original first French title "Les Parisiens tels qu`ils Sont" by Robert Delpire, Paris (1954). Welcome to the second auction by Anatole Desachy (France) and Ecki Heuser (Germany) in celebration of Paris. At the occasion of ‘’Paris Photo’’ fair, we have gathered a new selection of classical & uncommon Photobooks about the city of light. Enjoy and good luck with your bids ! "From the 1930s, Robert Doisneau photographed the streets of Paris. He is remembered for his modest, playful, and ironic images of amusing juxtapositions, mingling social classes, and eccentrics in contemporary Paris streets and cafes. Influenced by the work of André Kertész, Eugène Atget, and Henri Cartier-Bresson, in more than twenty books of photography, he presented a charming vision of human frailty and life as a series of quiet, incongruous moments. Doisneau's work gives unusual prominence and dignity to children's street culture; returning again and again to the theme of children at play in the city, unfettered by parents. His work treats their play with seriousness and respect." (Wikipedia) This is a lot by 5Uhr30.com (Ecki Heuser, Cologne, Germany). We guarantee detailed and accurate descriptions, 100% transport protection, 100% transport insurance and of course combined shipping - worldwide. Christian Wegner Verlag, Hamburg. 1955.
