Ko-Katchushi Tsuba - Eisen (geschmiedet) - Japan - Muromachi Periode (1333-1573)
Ko-Katchushi iron tsuba from Japan, possibly from the Muromachi period (1330-1573). The engraved halo of the Buddha Nyorai rays, amida-yasurime, can still be seen on the surface of the tsuba. In places the surface of the tsuba has tekkotsu and yakita-shitate. The tsuba has a uchikaeshi mimi edge and two udenuki-ana (holes with which the tsuba and the blade was locked and secured to a leather strap or cord on the saya/kurigata, e.g. while riding). The tsuba has age-related impairments and corrosion. Without identification papers, we cannot guarantee age and attribution.
