Vintage Meissen “X-Form” porcelain cup and saucer. Heavily embellished in gold and featuring colourful painted florets. Meissen porcelain, originating from Germany, is renowned as the first European porcelain and is recognizable by its distinctive crossed swords logo. Both cup and saucer bear a series of impressed numbers and a series of hand painted numbers and marks in gold orange and red as well as the official company blue crossed swords logo. The cup measures 6 cms tall the saucer is 12 cms in diameter and belong to the "X-Form" series, designed by Ernst August Leuteritz. Date: I am unsure of the age of this piece but believe it to be second half of 20th century. Condition is excellent having been unused and displayed for many years in a closed glass cabinet.
