Byōbu-Faltschirm - Holz, Papier, Seide, Ein japanisches Vier-Panel-Siebdruck eines hügeligen Landschaftsbildes mit Kiefern, einer Pagode und - Japan
A Japanese four-panel screen painted on silk, depicting a hilly landscape with pines (松, matsu), a pagoda (塔, tō), and a cherry tree in bloom (桜, sakura) beside a flowing river.
In the foreground, pines with green foliage and a blossoming cherry tree stand by the shore, while in the background a pagoda rises among trees and soft mists fading into distant mountains.
The composition, balanced and meditative in tone, brings together three traditional symbols of Japanese culture: the pine, representing longevity and steadfastness; the cherry tree, symbolizing ephemeral beauty and renewal; and the pagoda, expressing spirituality.
The frame is in black lacquered wood.
Byōbu (屏風), literally “wind protection screens,” are traditional Japanese folding screens originally created to divide spaces and today appreciated above all as striking wall-mounted paintings.
--- The byobu is in very good condition. Please refer to the pictures for further details.
The item will be carefully packed and shipped via DHL or FedEx, accompanied by the original certificate of authenticity issued by Mastromauro Japanese art gallery based in Milan, Italy.
