Byōbu-Faltschirm - Ein sechsteiliges Byōbu (屏風) Faltbildschirm, das eine Landschaft am See mit Kiefern zeigt. - Signed - Japan - Meiji-Zeit (spätes 19. Jahrhundert)
A Japanese six-panel folding screen (byōbu, 屏風) painted on paper with gold dust, depicting a wide lakeside landscape enveloped in morning mist.
In the foreground, a dense grove of pine trees (matsu, 松) extends along the shore, while in the distance light-sailed boats glide across the surface of the lake.
The panels are framed by a gold-leaf border, while a wooden frame completes and protects the piece.
Signed and sealed by the artist in the lower right corner.
The screen can also be easily mounted on a wall or used as a room divider.
Byōbu (屏風), literally “wind protection screens,” are traditional Japanese folding screens originally created to divide spaces and today appreciated above all as striking wall-mounted paintings.
---The byobu is in good condition, with minor signs of wear due to age, restorations and small imperfections on the paper. Please refer to the pictures for further details.
The item will be carefully packed and shipped via DHL or FedEx, accompanied by the original certificate of authenticity issued by Mastromauro Japanese art gallery based in Milan, Italy.
