The lens was removed from a 35mm soviet Smiena Symbol film camera for 35mm film. It allows you to go back to the communist era and take advantage of this inexpensive but good-for-the-time camera lens. It’s a copy of the Trioplan formula. Cook's popular triplet. It offers a number of advantages of this simple lens which was inexpensive to make and therefore common, but on the other hand burdened with many optical "flaws," which are considered advantages in those days and today. Many of these flaws are used as features and effects in artistic photography. The less than ideal method of confirming focus with the Smena (the lack of a mirror and rangefinder) led LOMO designers to opt for a relatively dark lens to compensate for any focusing errors with a sufficiently large depth of field. Mounting the Smena lens on a Fujifilm body provides a number of features that facilitate precise focusing. And here, you can see that the lens boasts above-average sharpness, comparable to the legendary Helios lenses. The lens is adjusted to infinity with a slight margin beyond infinity with Fuji X system. The lens has fixed plastic Fuji X lens mount. Even on APSC cameras like the Fuji X-T, X-E, X-Pro etc., beautiful bokeh is visible. The bokeh is inherited from the Trioplan formula. A slight swirl of this bokeh is already visible on APSC sensors. In addition to the sharpness, beautiful flare is probably the most desirable feature of this lens. It appears when a sharp point of light is found near the center of the frame. Although considered a defect, it allows for artistic expression and creative experimentation.
