160 g - extra helles, natives Kupfer, kristallisierte Formation, von Keweenaw Co. Exemplar - Höhe: 91 mm - Breite: 65 mm- 160 g - (1)

160 g High Quality - A highly aesthetic crystallized Native Copper specimen from the world-famous Keweenaw Peninsula, Michigan. This piece displays complex branching growth and sharp metallic surfaces with a bright, warm copper colour. Small remnants of the original host rock are still attached, adding geological context and authenticity. Native Copper from Keweenaw is considered classic and historically important, as the region is one of the oldest and most prolific native copper districts on Earth. High-quality crystallized copper from Keweenaw is increasingly sought after due to limited availability and strong historical significance. Origin: Keweenaw Co. Michigan, United States Condition: Natural, untreated Dimensions: 91 x 65 x 18 mm Weight: 160 g Shipped with its stand, as seen in the photos. ***About Native Copper Formation*** Native Copper is geologically uncommon because copper in nature usually occurs as sulphides, carbonates, or oxides. In rare geological environments, such as the basaltic lava flows of the Keweenaw Peninsula, specific hydrothermal and reducing conditions allow metallic copper to precipitate directly as pure native metal. This process can produce crystallized masses, branching structures, and occasionally well-formed crystals of nearly pure copper. For this reason, Native Copper specimens are considered rare, scientifically significant, and highly desirable among collectors. ***All photos were taken using lamp light, with professional photographic lenses, to enhance the colors and also the details and imperfections of the gem. Looking with the naked eye, possible inclusions and imperfections are much less visible or not visible at all.*** The live color may be of a slightly different shade because it changes based on each different screen in which it is viewed.
