Antique 14K Gold Rose Cut Garnet Natural Pearl Cross Pendant Total weight: 10.60 g Size: 75.2 × 53.4 × 8.8 mm Gemstones: Garnet 22 pcs total, round shape, rose cut 6 pcs – 2.5 mm (~0.04 ct each) 4 pcs – 2.2 mm (~0.03 ct each) 12 pcs – 1.5 mm (~0.01 ct each) Total estimated carat weight: ~0.48 ct Pearl 1 pc, natural Round shape White body colour 1.3 mm Hallmarks: A worn / unclear hallmark on the clasp ring (see photos). Style: Victorian Revival / Baroque Revival Era: Late 19th Century – Early 20th Century (circa 1880–1910) Description: This impressive antique 14K gold cross pendant is a finely preserved example of late 19th–early 20th century European craftsmanship. Designed in a high-Baroque Revival style, the piece displays elaborate scrolling ornamentation, raised cartouches, and deeply modelled goldwork typical of ecclesiastical and devotional jewellery of the Victorian period. Each quadrant of the cross features a raised, architectural gold panel delicately adorned with rose-cut garnets arranged in floral clusters. These antique rose cuts, with their domed tops and flat bases, sparkle softly under light and contribute to the pendant’s distinctly historic character. A single natural seed pearl is set into the centre cluster, adding a subtle contrast and highlighting the pendant’s sacred symbolism. The cross is constructed with sculptural, hollow-form repoussé techniques—lightweight yet voluminous—allowing the gold to form dramatic reliefs without excessive weight. The reverse retains the same ornate repoussé structure, symmetrical and entirely hand-finished. At the top sits a sturdy 14K gold suspension ring, original to the piece, with a faint and partially worn hallmark consistent with age. The pendant hangs gracefully and has a striking presence, making it suitable as both a devotional item and a collector’s statement jewel. Large antique gold crosses of this calibre—set with rose-cut garnets and retaining all original stones—are increasingly scarce. Its generous size, ornate detailing, and gemstone embellishment make it a particularly desirable example of Victorian religious jewellery. This piece has been fully checked by our in-house jeweller & gemologist. Shipped tracked and insured from the Netherlands (within the European Union). You can expect to receive this item in 5 business days or less.
