Rosenthal, Thomas - Vase (4) - Porzellan

Dear Bidders, I'm offering here a beautiful set of 3 porcelain vases and 1 small bowl made by Thomas ( Rosenthal Group ). The vases shown here reflect this modern utilitarian aesthetic: smooth, rectangular bodies with rounded corners, vertical slot openings and a monochrome glaze typical of Thomas pieces from the late 1960s to the 1980s. During this period, Thomas frequently worked with designers such as Hans (Hans-Theo) Baumann, Richard Scharrer and the Rosenthal in-house studio, all of whom favored simple, architectural forms similar to this series. Because Thomas production from that era was serial and often unsigned, exact dating is not always possible, but the combination of shape, glaze and proportions suggests a production window around the 1970s–1980s, when the brand was strongly focused on contemporary, minimal, design-driven household pieces under the Rosenthal Studio influence. SOME GENERAL INFORMATIONS: Thomas, a brand within the Rosenthal Group since 1908, is known for its clean, modernist approach to porcelain design. From the 1950s onward, Thomas became especially associated with functional, Scandinavian-inspired forms and innovative studio design. Many collections from the 1960s–1980s featured geometric silhouettes, soft edges and minimalist surfaces, often created in collaboration with designers from Rosenthal’s “Studio Linie.” SOME ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: * Made in Germany by Thomas ( Rosenthal Group ) * Material: porcelain in white * Measurements: approx. 1. 19x12x6 cm; 2. 14,5x9,5x5 cm; 3. 11,5x7,5x3,5 cm; 4. 4x14x9 cm * Please watch all the pictures, they are also a part of description * I would like to point out that the items I am selling are several decades old and therefore show general signs of use and age, such as minor scratches, scuffs, discoloration, dust, cracks, dents, patina, chips etc. Any major damage is always shown in the photos * Please remember about Catawiki’s rules and make a payment maximally within 3 days after auction end The vases will be properly prepared for the shipping ( mainly recycled materials ) and sent insured ( up to 500€). IMPORTANT: If, however, the item is damaged or lost, please contact me via the internal Catawiki chat. According to EU law for courier companies, in any case of damage to an international shipment, the first step in obtaining compensation is for the RECIPIENT to report the damage to their local supplier within 7 days of receiving the shipment. Only then, after the RECIPENT ( you ) receives a certificate of damage, I as the sender can claim compensation. In addition, the following photos will be required: the damage to the item, the outside of the box with the shipping label, and the inside of the box including the materials used to protect the shipment. Please don’t bid if you don’t accept that. Happy bidding and good luck! ***Condition categories according to Catawiki:*** * „as new” - unused * „excellent condition” - barely used with minimal signs of wear / usage * „good condition” - used with small signs of aging * „fair condition” - heavily used with possibly minor damage / parts missing * „poor” - heavily used with major cracks, damages and / or major parts missing * „very poor” - showing significant decay, loss of original texture or solidity of the material
