Béhier. Jean Béhier (1903-1965) field mineralogist and collector, lecturer at the CEA and member of the geological survey for Madagascar, where he contributed to describe 70 new species. His collection featured more than 5000 samples subdivided in three sets: French minerals, European minerals and Malgasy minerals. Ex coll. Rollet family (Lyon). The Rollet family owned several mines in Madagascar since 1920, prospecting for new deposits, mining and exporting minerals for industrial uses (mainly phlogopite) but also gemstone roughs and collectable specimens. Founder Marc Rollet was a very early mineral dealer in France. The collection features many specimens of historical and systematic interest from Madagascar, as well as a variety of French and international classics from the last century.
