Traditionelle japanische Teeschale mit Spiralverzierung - Kosobe-Stil - Keramik - Japan - 1900-2000

Item Description: This is an authentic Japanese tea bowl (chawan) from a lot that includes pieces attributed to Kosobeyaki (古曽部焼) and Kutani styles. This particular bowl features elegant spiral brush decoration on a cream-colored ground with natural ash glaze accents. Kosobeyaki, one of the Enshu Nanagama (Seven Kilns favored by tea master Kobori Enshu), was produced in Kosobe village (present-day Takatsuki City, Osaka) from the late Edo period through the Taisho era. The kilns were known for creating copies of Mishima, Karatsu, and Korean styles, as well as distinctive overglaze enamels. This bowl exemplifies the rustic aesthetic and warm, approachable character that defined Kosobe ware. The bowl features a flowing spiral motif rendered in iron-brown brushwork against a white slip background, with natural variations in the glaze creating organic beauty. The iron-rich rim shows the characteristic reddish-brown color typical of wood-fired ceramics. The form is compact and well-balanced, suitable for tea ceremony use. This piece represents the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi, finding beauty in imperfection and naturalness. The tactile quality and humble elegance make it an ideal vessel for the tea ceremony, embodying the spirit of hospitality and mindfulness central to the practice. Size Height: 8 cm Width: 14 cm Depth: 13 cm Weight: 331 g Condition The bowl is in good condition with no major damage. Minor signs of age-appropriate wear consistent with vintage ceramics. NOITICE: The lot will be carefully packaged and sent by Japan Post, DHL or FedEx depend on the situation. It takes about 3 weeks to receive normally.
