AC/DC - 2 x albums - WHO MADE WHO/ FLICK OF THE SWITCH - LP-Alben (mehrere Objekte) - 1983

“Artist: AC DC Album: Who made who Label: Atlantic 781650-1WX57 Country: Europe Released:1986 Genre: Rock, Hard Rock Conditions : Sleeve: EX / Vinyl: Ex “Artist: AC DC Album: Flick of the switch Label: Atlantic 87-0100-01 Country: Germany Released:1983 Genre: Rock, Hard Rock Conditions : Sleeve: EX / Vinyl: Ex The album reached No. 16 in the UK and No. 33 in the US.The title track was the group's most successful single in years, reaching the top 10 in Australia and number 16 in the UK. It was also voted the second best track of 1986 by the readers of Hit Parader magazine. Following this, a re-issue of "You Shook Me All Night Long" was released from the album, peaking at #46 in the UK. The album has sold five million copies in the US. Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic calls the album "a ripping AC/DC retrospective" and applauds the band "rescuing songs like 'Sink the Pink' from otherwise mediocre albums." Flick on the Switch is an AC/DC album, and that alone would be enough to conclude this review (someone would be happy, I'm sure); but there's an interesting underlying argument. The band, after the commercial binge of the late '70s and early '80s—remember, Back in Black remains the second best-selling album of all time—was eager to toughen up their sound, believing their previous works had strayed too far into soft, light-hearted territory. Indeed, a certain NWOBHM influence can be heard in the grooves of Flick of the Switch, which conjugates the verb "to rock (the Australian way)" according to the dictates of the new hard rock. Having fired the entire staff that had brought them commercial success, the Young brothers essentially self-produced the album to achieve their intended sonic goal.
