Incredible Japanese sliding doors fusuma (襖) painted on silk, framed with black lacquered borders. The composition depicts a wide natural landscape with mountains veiled in mist, pine trees, flowing water, and a waterfall.
Green and ochre tones create a strong sense of atmospheric depth, in keeping with the Japanese landscape painting tradition. The panels retain their original circular hikite (引手) pulls.
The painting unfolds as a continuous scene, conceived to divide interior spaces while visually expanding them. On the lower right panel appears the artist’s signature.
The outer frames in black lacquer complete the ensemble. The reverse features a simpler decoration, with softly shaded areas in gold and silver powder representing stylized clouds.
The doors can also be easily mounted on a wall.
--- The doors are in good condition. Wear and light staining to the silk, as well as signs of wear to the lacquered frames, consistent with age and use. Hole on the back. Please refer to the pictures for further details.
The item will be carefully packed and shipped via DHL or FedEx, accompanied by the original certificate of authenticity issued by Mastromauro Japanese art gallery based in Milan, Italy.
