HISTORY OF THE WATCH: TMovement: Early models like the 20214 used the automatic Calibre 138SS "bumper" movement, which was different from the later micro-rotor movements the Polerouter became known for. Case and dial: The reference 20214 is a gold-capped steel watch, often featuring a gold dial with a crosshair and a circular tension ring. Some versions also had a unique herringbone metal bracelet. Name change: The name was initially "Polarouter" and was changed to "Polerouter" to make it easier to pronounce for the North American market. The name change was sometimes inconsistent in marketing materials around 1957. C.
