Yakushi Nyorai is usually depicted with the left hand raised holding a medicine jar and the right hand lowered in a gesture of granting wishes. In this piece, both hands are missing from the wrists, but the remaining arm positions follow the traditional Yakushi iconography. The head shows a rounded cranial protuberance, the characteristic feature of a Buddha figure. The robes are carved in simple drapery folds on the front and back, typical of small devotional images produced for household worship. The figure stands on a small lotus-shaped pedestal carved from the same block of wood. The statue shows significant age-related wear throughout, including surface erosion, scratches, small chips, and patina. Both hands are missing from the wrists. The facial details are heavily worn, and the head shows age-related surface loss. There are small holes and abrasion marks on the body, and part of the lotus base has minor loss. Please refer to the photos for a detailed assessment of the condition. Dimensions: approx.
