Deutschland, Drittes Reich 5 Reichsmark 1935 A / Potsdam Garrison Church / MS 61 (Ohne mindestpreis)

1935 A Germany Nazi Third Reich Potsdam Garrison Church 5 Mark Silver Coin MS 61 Highlights: 1. Certified UNC condition with wonderful multi colour patina, commands substantial premium. 2. The A-factory hallmark signifies it was minted in Berlin, Germany, the economic, military and political core at that time. 3. Coins from the Hitler era hold exceptional historical and collectible value, making them highly prized by historical collectors! Coin Story: This German Nazi regime 5 Reichsmark commemorative coin was minted in 1934. On March 21, 1933, under Hitler's orchestration, the opening ceremony of the Reichstag was held at the Potsdam Garrison Church. The Potsdam Garrison Church, with its 88-meter-high clock tower, is a landmark building in Potsdam. The church was built in the 1730s of the 18th century and is the most famous Baroque-style architecture in northern Germany. This garrison church has a close connection to World War II, particularly the Reichstag opening ceremony held by Hitler and Hindenburg at the Potsdam Church in 1933. On that day, President Hindenburg and the new Chancellor Hitler shook hands, symbolizing the alliance between "militarism" and "Nazism," historically known as the "Day of Potsdam (Tag von Potsdam)." Shortly thereafter, the Reichstag passed the Enabling Act, transforming Germany into a totalitarian state under Nazi rule. The garrison church, which was bombed into ruins during World War II, was regrettably completely demolished in 1968 under the DDR regime, and reconstruction began again in 2017.
