Katana - Terumitsu, Sohn von Ono Yoshimitsu - Japan

- Blade length: 34.9 cm - Curvature: 0.4 cm - Mekugi hole: 1 - Motohaba: 36.7 mm - Motokasane: 6.0 mm - Sakihaba: 31.6 mm - Sakikasane: 5.5 mm - Weight: 390 g(blade only) - Signature: Terumitsu saku(front)/Reiwa Rokunen Haru Kichijitsu(back) - Era: Modern - Structure: Hira-zukuri, Iori-mune - Jigane: Itame - Hamon: Juka Choji - Boshi: Midarekomi - Nakago: Ubu - Koshirae: Shirasaya - Original Registration No.: Tokyo 327732 This work is an exceptionally powerful and bold big dagger with an unusually wide blade. Its blade length exceeds 30 centimeters, making it large and dynamic enough to be classified as a wakizashi. The blade condition is extremely good, with zero flaws, chips, or rust. The jigane features itame with some areas showing a slight mokume-like pattern, and yubashiri is also visible. The hamon is a brilliant juka-chōji pattern, with prominent features like long ashi and tama, creating a dynamic pattern reminiscent of great flames. The nakago bears inscriptions: “Terumitsu Saku” on the sashi-omote side and “Reiwa Rokunen Haru Kichijitsu” on the sashi-ura side. This confirms Terumitsu crafted this work in the spring of 2024. Terumitsu is a rising young swordsmith, son of the renowned swordsmith Oono Yoshimitsu, whose uncertified blades are said to surpass even the hamon of the National Treasure blade Sanchomo. His flamboyant yet elegant hamon, inherited from his father, truly represents the orthodox successor to the Oono Chōji style Yoshimitsu created. His works will leave viewers breathless. To further enhance this magnificent blade, it features a special habaki carved with Sanskrit characters. These characters represent Fudō Myōō(Acala) and Sho Kan'non(Arya Avalokiteshvara), elevating its value as a protective sword. Its aesthetic quality is so high, and it remains uncirculated even in Japan, that its value is expected to rise significantly in the future. This Tanto is an item by Terumitsu, a member of the All Japan Swordsmiths Association, so the winning bidder will receive an official certificate from the All Japan Swordsmiths Association. This marks the first time this work is being introduced to the world, so don't miss this opportunity. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This sword will generally be shipped from Japan by air freight(UPS or EMS). If air shipment to the winning bidder's country is not possible, it will be shipped by sea freight. In Belgium, private sales of Japanese swords are prohibited by law, so bids from Belgium are not permitted.
