Discontinued Hummel figurine series entitled "For Father." 1) This vintage Hummel figurine depicts a little German boy holding a beer stein and an arm full of turnips or other root vegetables meant as a gift for his father. 2) This young German lad dressed in his heavy duty work apron has been working side by side with his father learning the handmade craftsmanship of being a Cobbler with pride. With the lady’s shoes completed to perfection in one hand, under his other arm he’s eager to learn the larger task of repairing men’s work boots today in Goebel Hummel “Boots” which is also called “Stiefel” in the native German language. “Boots” was originally modeled by master sculptor Arthur Möller in 1940, and was originally called “Shoemaker”.
