Tangerine Dream are regarded as pioneers of electronica. Their collaboration with the electronic music label Ohr produced albums that played a crucial role in the development of the German music scene known as 'cosmic music'. Their 'Virgin Years', so named because of their association with Virgin Records, produced albums that delved further into synthesizers and sequencers, including UK Top 20 albums Phaedra (1974) and Rubycon (1975). The group also had a successful career as film soundtrack composers, creating over 60 film scores.
