The central map shows the northwest coast of South America extending from Panama to Chile, and includes various cities, rivers, mountain ranges, lakes and fortifications. The plan below shows a top elevation of the city of Lima, Peru. The main map has engravings on either side, one showing local flora and fauna, and ‘machines’, the other showing the manner of dress of the Spanish colonists in Peru. The remaining panels are filled with description in French of the illustrations in a stylized font. Marked at upper right: ‘Tom: VI. N°32. Pag: 134'.
