L’opera raffigura la Vergine Immacolata secondo l’iconografia tradizionale barocca.

Figura centrale: Maria è in posizione frontale, con le mani incrociate sul petto in atteggiamento di umiltà e devozione. Indossa una tunica bianca (simbolo di purezza) e un ampio manto azzurro che scende elegantemente sulle nubi.

Attributi mariani: sul capo brilla un’aureola composta da dodici stelle dorate, in riferimento alla visione apocalittica della “donna vestita di sole, con una corona di dodici stelle” (Apocalisse 12,1).

Base iconografica: la Vergine posa su un globo celeste, con un serpente sotto il piede, simbolo del peccato originale vinto dalla sua immacolata concezione.

Putti angelici: attorno alla Madonna tre cherubini volano tra le nubi: uno regge un ramo di gigli (simbolo di purezza), un altro la palma del martirio (allusione alla vittoria sul male e al trionfo della fede).

Sfondo: il cielo aperto con nuvole luminose contribuisce a sottolineare la dimensione celeste e gloriosa della scena.

Unique Objects

Occasionally, two different bidders may show up in the bidding history with the same bid amount. This occurs when one user's bid is exactly the same as an automatic (maximum) bid placed by another user earlier. Since the auto-bid was placed first, this takes preference. The bidding history will show both bids, with the auto-bid ranked as the higher of the two.
