Dit kunstwerk is een afbeelding van "Winter" uit de serie “De Jaargetijden” van de beroemde Art Nouveau-kunstenaar Alphonse Mucha. 
Het werk is een personificatie van de winter als een figuur in een besneeuwd landschap. Oorspronkelijk gemaakt rond 1896. 

Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939) is een van de onbetwiste meesters van de Art Nouveau en een fundamentele figuur in de geschiedenis van de decoratieve moderne kunst. Zijn onmiddellijk herkenbare stijl, gekenmerkt door elegante vrouwelijke figuren, vloeiende lijnen, ornamentale halo's en rijke botanische motieven, is synoniem geworden met fin-de-siècle Parijs en de opkomst van grafische kunst als een verzameldiscipline.
Mucha's werken genieten blijvende internationale
vraag, met hoge prijzen voor affiches, litho's en decoratieve panelen, die evenzeer aanspreken bij liefhebbers van beeldende kunst, ontwerpfans en interieurstylisten.
