A rare akae dobin teapot by Takauchi Shugo, a leading contemporary ceramic artist from Mashiko. Hand-thrown stoneware with a traditional metal handle, decorated in vivid red overglaze enamel (akae) with playful motifs in red, green, and yellow on a warm beige ground. The bold brushwork and rustic presence embody the spirit of Mashiko ware at its finest.

Takauchi Shugo has cultivated a distinctive artistic voice over decades of work, blending folk craft sensibility with contemporary expression. His works are held in prestigious international galleries including Robert Yellin Yakimono Gallery, Dai Ichi Arts New York, and Erskine, Hall & Coe London. This dobin (traditional Japanese teapot) reflects his mastery of akae decoration — a technique demanding precision and confidence in every brushstroke.

Comes with the original signed wooden box (tomobako) inscribed "Akae Dobin" by the artist, guaranteeing authenticity. Signed "Shu" on the body with the artist's seal.
