Tethys in silverwaves
Dit werk verbeeldt de vijver van de Hortus Botanicus in Leiden maar voordat ik het wist schilderde ik er de watergodin Tethys in. De eerste laag is gegoten acryl verf met daaroverheen olieverf. 80 x 120 cm. Het langwerpige schilderij past uitstekend in de leeskamer naast een stoel om heerlijk bij weg te dromen.
‘Hanneke Naterop’ … rings a bell? Misschien herinnert u zich de aflevering van ‘Sterren op het doek’, waar zij André Kuipers mocht vereeuwigen. Dichter dan met ‘onze astronaut’ kun je bij de sterren niet komen.

Hanneke exposeerde in binnen- en buitenland (Barcelona, Seattle, Antwerpen) Haar werk is aangekocht door vooraanstaande verzamelaars in heel Europa en de VS. Ze heeft meegedaan aan (inter)nationale wedstrijden en haalde vele malen de selectie met haar eigenzinnige werk. (oa Figurativas Barcelona en BP portrait award) en haalde de selectie meerdere malen. In interviews straalt zij en spreekt ze met autoriteit over kunst - met een ontwapenende glimlach. 
Hanneke is opgeleid aan de Academie voor Beeldende Vorming Tilburg in 1990 en
heeft een passie voor figuratieve kunst. Haar eerste jaren werkte ze veelal in opdracht en schilderde prachtige portretten. Haar penseel vertelt altijd verhalen die haar
omgeving weerspiegelen. Zo;n drie jaar geleden begon ze te dagdromen over kleurrijke
sprookjes met levendige structuren en tinten die harmonie en vreugde uitstralen. En zo
begon haar kleurrijke avontuur! Haar werk heeft altijd een verhalend element, maar
haar nieuwste stukken hebben een twist: een abstracte onderlaag van vrolijke patronen
in acrylverf. Hierop schildert ze meestal vrouwelijke figuren, soms ook weelderige
interieurs die opgaan in de kleurlaag eronder. Haar doel? Een mix van sereniteit,
mysterie en rijkdom creëren, zowel in verhaal, vormen als textuur.



De verkoper stelt zich voor
Hanneke Naterop [1965] is a Dutch artist who lives in the The Hague area in The Netherlands. She is a fulltime artist and teaches art at Parkvilla Alphen aan de Rijn. She graduated at the academy for art and visual education in Tilburg 1990. Many artcollectors have since bought works of her and she exhibited in the  Netherlands, Belium, Spain and the United States in galleries like Kunstzaal van Heijningen, Anita Terbeek, Morren Galleries, Galerie Bonnard, Figure Ground Galery Pulchri Studio, ect. She also portrayed The Dutch Astronaout Andre Kuipers for the TV show Star Portrait. Naterop is a painter who reaches into her subjects for what lies beneath the surface. Even her commissioned portraits are never satisfied with mere likeness. Hanneke Naterop echo's the traditional technique of the past, with her feet and mind planted in the present."You can describe my work as figurative. I have always painted about subjects around me. About three years ago I asked myself what I would like to create as well. The first thing that came to mind were fairytale like stories with beautiful rich structures and colors that create harmony and richness and radiate pleasure. On that moment the colorful new work had started. The narrative is always a theme in my work, my most recent work  has an abstract layer of colorful patterns in acrylic paint On top of that I paint my stories or interiors and let  these blend into the color layer below. In the works I am looking for a mixture of serenity, mystery, richness in story, form language and texture."
