Ce lot se compose de sept verres à vin en cristal du modèle « Yale », une création emblématique de Val Saint Lambert, réalisée dans les années 1950-1960, période durant laquelle la cristallerie belge développe des services aux lignes architecturées et élégantes, destinés à une clientèle internationale. Par leur hauteur de 12,3 cm, ces pièces correspondent à des verres à vin rouge léger ou à vin blanc ample, typiques des formats polyvalents de l’époque.

Chaque verre se distingue par une silhouette harmonieuse reposant sur un pied octogonal, dont les arêtes soigneusement polies réfractent la lumière. Ce pied s’élève en huit côtes plates ascendantes qui convergent vers une ceinture sculptée de carrés sur pointe tronquée — un élément décoratif très structuré, signature du modèle Yale. Cette ceinture accueille un calice légèrement ouvert, d’une parfaite limpidité, pensé pour valoriser la robe du vin tout en conservant une ligne sobre et raffinée. L’ensemble dégage une impression de géométrie maîtrisée, typique des créations techniques de Val Saint Lambert à la moitié du XXᵉ siècle.

L’état général est très bon, avec des variations mineures propres à un service ancien : un verre présente une petite puce sur le buvant, un autre une puce au niveau du pied, un troisième un accroc discret sur la ceinture ainsi qu’une égrenure interne sous la base. Ces détails n’affectent ni l’usage ni l’esthétique générale de l’ensemble, qui demeure homogène et bien conservé.

Dans les années 50-60, Val Saint Lambert traverse une phase de renouveau esthétique, marquée par la modernisation de ses lignes et l’exportation accrue vers les marchés européens et nord-américains. Les modèles comme Yale reflètent cette recherche d’équilibre entre tradition du cristal taillé et formes plus architecturales, parfois influencées par les tendances post-Art Déco et les exigences d’une nouvelle clientèle. Ce lot s’inscrit pleinement dans cette évolution, témoignant du savoir-faire de la cristallerie durant une période de haute maîtrise technique.
