Juan García Ripollés —conocido como Ripollés—, nació en
Alzira (Valencia, España) en 1932. La muerte de su madre
en el parto le llevó hasta Castellón La Plana.
Sus primeros años de vida no fueron fáciles: recogió
boñigas de caballo, fue chatarrero y pintor de brocha gorda,
hasta que se marchó a París en 1954. Quería ser pintor. Y
allí fue donde lo logró.
Cuatro años después de su llegada, lograba colgar sus
cuadros en la prestigiosa galería Drouand David, la misma
que había expuesto a Picasso y Chagall.
Desde su regreso a España, en los años sesenta, su taller
es la naturaleza.
Hoy en día, a sus 92 años, aún es así: pinta en la huerta de
su casona en la pequeña pedanía de Mas de Flors, en la
provincia de Castellón.
Durante las últimas cinco décadas, sus lienzos y grabados
se han mostrado en las mejores galerías y museos de
Ámsterdam, Nueva York, Tokio o Beijing.
Sus esculturas de gran formato han sido instaladas en los
parques y en las principales calles y plazas de Madrid,
Sevilla, Valencia, Lisboa, Venecia, Verona, Hertogenbosch
o Beijing.

Occasionally, two different bidders may show up in the bidding history with the same bid amount. This occurs when one user's bid is exactly the same as an automatic (maximum) bid placed by another user earlier. Since the auto-bid was placed first, this takes preference. The bidding history will show both bids, with the auto-bid ranked as the higher of the two.
