René Prin est né le 15 janvier 1905 à Mortery en Seine- et-Marne.
En 1927, après son mariage, il s’établit au restaurant « La Mère Corbeau » fondé par ses beaux-parents. Malgré ses occupations en cuisine, il ne cesse de transposer ses sentiments sur la toile. Ses nombreuses toiles sont toujours exposées dans les plus grandes galeries du monde.
René Prin s’est éteint en 1985 et repose dans le cimetière de Pacy.
