Este icono representa a los tres mártires sirios conocidos en la tradición ortodoxa como:

San Samonas (Simón / Samon)

San Gurias (Gregorio / Gury)

San Abibos (Aviv / Abib)

Estos tres santos fueron mártires cristianos de Edesa (actual Turquía) durante las persecuciones del Imperio Romano:

Samonas y Gurias murieron primero por negarse a renunciar a su fe.

Abibos (Aviv) era diácono y fue martirizado posteriormente, por lo que a menudo aparece con vestiduras litúrgicas.

Los tres aparecen de pie, con halos, símbolo de santidad.

Suelen llevar cruces en la mano, indicando su martirio.

En la parte superior, dentro de una nube, aparece Cristo bendiciendo, lo que confirma su glorificación celestial.

Las inscripciones en eslavo eclesiástico identifican a cada santo (aunque a veces están deterioradas, como en tu icono).

Son especialmente venerados en la tradición ortodoxa como:

Protectores del matrimonio y la fidelidad conyugal

Intercesores en conflictos familiares y juramentos
