John Worsley (British, 1919-2000)

John Godfrey Bernard Worsley (16 February 1919 – 3 October 2000) was a British artist and illustrator best known for his naval battle scenes and portraits of high-ranking officers and political figures. One of the very few active service artists of the Second World War, Worsley was the only person to render contemporary sea-warfare in situ, and the only official war artist captured by the Germans.

Selling here is a fantastic large original watercolour and gouache painting by the well listed British artist, John Worsley 1919-2000. Signed, titled and dated to the lower right. 
 
Condition: There is the occasional mark, otherwise in excellent condition. Please see our images for further description and detail.

Unique Objects

Occasionally, two different bidders may show up in the bidding history with the same bid amount. This occurs when one user's bid is exactly the same as an automatic (maximum) bid placed by another user earlier. Since the auto-bid was placed first, this takes preference.
