In tempo di guerra venne chiesto al  popolo italiano di partecipare alla spesa bellica regalando il proprio anello nuziale in oro allo stato. Lo stato rilasciava in sostituzione un anello in metallo con scritto all'interno "oro alla patria". 
Un oggetto che racconta un periodo buio della storia.
