Annabel Eagles

Eleonora Stol (1946–2022) was een Nederlandse kunstenares vooral bekend om haar expressieve, kleurrijke en emotioneel geladen schilderijen en grafische werken. Ze werd geboren in Leiden en studeerde aan de Vrije Academie in Den Haag, en werkte daarna lange tijd vanuit Amsterdam. Haar kunstenaarsnaam was ook wel “La Roja”, verwijzend naar haar voorkeur voor krachtige kleuren, met rood als een terugkerend thema in haar leven en werk.

Stol’s werk kenmerkt zich door levendig kleurgebruik, dynamische vormen en een intuïtieve schilderstijl waarin passie, liefde, dans en droombeelden een grote rol spelen. Ze maakte vaak gebruik van gemengde technieken, waaronder acryl, olieverf en potlood, waardoor haar werken een rijke, textuurrijke uitstraling krijgen die direct op emotie inspeelt. Haar kunst wordt beschreven als levendig, energiek en vol beweging, bijna alsof de doeken ‘ademen’.

Het werk is bij ons in de galerie te bezichtigen. Verder beschikt Art Dumay over een lijstenmakerij (dit jaar hun 85 jarige jubileum) en een restauratieatelier. Dus mocht u hiervan gebruik willen maken dan horen wij het uiteraard graag.
