Boterschotel van gegraveerd kristal met massief zilveren montuur (.833) – Nederland, circa 1880

Een charmant en zeldzaam tafelobject uit de 19e eeuw: deze boterschotel, vervaardigd rond 1880, is uitgevoerd in fijn gegraveerd kristal en voorzien van een sierlijk massief zilveren montuur (.833). Een fraai voorbeeld van hoe zelfs de meest alledaagse gebruiksvoorwerpen destijds met oog voor elegantie en detail werden ontworpen.

De kristallen schaal is rondom gegraveerd met geometrische motieven, die met de hand zijn aangebracht en bij lichtinval prachtig tot leven komen. De deksel is voorzien van een .833 zilveren montuur. Het geheel rust stevig en gebalanceerd op een vlakke onderzijde — een voorbeeld van praktische schoonheid.

Boterschotels als deze sierden eind 19e-eeuwse ontbijttafels en high teas, en waren bedoeld voor het stijlvol presenteren van roomboter of kaas onder een stolp. Dit exemplaar brengt die sfeer van verfijning en huiselijke luxe perfect over.

Het object verkeert in goede staat, met lichte gebruikssporen passend bij de leeftijd. Een prachtig stukje antieke tafelcultuur voor liefhebbers van zilverwerk, kristal of culinaire presentatie met historische klasse.
