Esemplare autentico di crinoide della specie Scyphocrinites elegans, proveniente dal Siluriano del Marocco. Il fossile è completamente naturale e si presenta su lastra originale di circa 30 x 30 x 3 cm.

La lastra ospita due calici completi, entrambi con stelo e corona ben conservati. Un aspetto particolarmente rilevante è la presenza di due depressioni circolari ben visibili sulle chiome dei crinoidi. La curvatura degli steli indica chiaramente che le impronte sono coeve alla fossilizzazione dei crinoidi e non successive. L’origine di queste tracce è attribuibile con ogni probabilità all’interazione con un organismo sconosciuto.

Fossili che testimoniano interazioni tra specie nel registro paleontologico sono estremamente rari, e questo esemplare rappresenta un’interessante evidenza di comportamento o contatto biologico tra organismi del Siluriano.

Ottimo stato di conservazione, nessuna ricostruzione.
