Si tratta di un lavoro realizzato nel 2024 e facente parte di una serie di opere denominate
 "Metamorfosi di una metamorfosi" che ripropongono, in una lettura del tutto personale 
dell'artista Stefano Trapanese, storie tratte dalle "Metamorfosi" di Ovidio o dall' "Asino d'oro" 
di Apuleio.
In quest'opera si ripropone, in una chiave di lettura del tutto personale, una rivisitazione di 
un gruppo scultoreo esistente ("Amore e Psiche" di Antonio Canova) ma ripreso da diversa 
prospettiva rispetto a quella usuale (frontale). Questo consente una migliore interpretazione 
del Cupido (faretra) e del vaso della bellezza altrimenti invisibile perchè a tergo.
La trasposizione sulla tela consente di imprimere alla scena
quel dinamismo che l’opera scultoria non è di per se in grado di
esprimere fino in fondo.
Il quadro è dotato di ricca e preziosa cornice barocca in legno e che aumenta le dimensioni del dipinto a 130 cm x 100 cm (51,1 in x 39,3 in)

This work, created in 2024, is part of a series called
"Metamorphoses of a Metamorphosis," which reinterpret, in a highly personal way
by artist Stefano Trapanese, stories from Ovid's "Metamorphoses" or Apuleius's "The Golden Ass."
This work presents, in a highly personal way, a reinterpretation of
an existing sculptural group (Antonio Canova's "Cupid and Psyche"), but from a different
perspective than the usual one (frontal). This allows for a better interpretation
of Cupid (quiver) and the vase of beauty, otherwise invisible because it is on the back.
The transposition onto canvas allows the scene to be given
a dynamism that the sculptural work itself is unable to
fully express.
The painting is equipped with a rich and precious baroque wooden frame which increases the size of the painting to 130 cm x 100 cm  (51,1 in x 39,3 in)
