Man Ray (1890-1976) - Le Violin d´Ingres - 1924 (The Violin of Ingres) 

''Inspired by Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres's La Grande Baigneuse, Man Ray used Kiki de Montparnasse wearing a turban as a model for this piece. He transformed the female body into a musical instrument by painting sound-holes on her back, playing with the idea of objectification of an animate body. Throughout his career Man Ray was fascinated with juxtaposing an object with a female body.'' (Source: Man Ray . Net)

One-time limited edition of Griffelkunst in 1991 (268 C3), approved by ADAGP Man Ray Trust. Accordingly stamped on the reverse. 

Size photography over all approximately 30,5 cm x 23,7 cm, photography print without white border approximately 24,2 cm x 17,8 cm. 

Condition: good to very good, never framed, please see photos.
