Antique Empire style console table with a fine white marble top and a richly carved wooden base, adorned with gilded details.

This elegant piece is signed by Johann Valentin Raab (LV. Raab), a renowned German artist known for his refined craftsmanship in the Empire period.

The console features:

Two sculpted lion-head supports ending in paw feet

Rich shell and foliage motifs across the frieze

Bright gilded carvings contrasting beautifully with the white marble surface

Materials: Wood with gilding, marble top
Style/Period: Empire, 19th century
Signature: LV. Raab (clearly visible, see photo)
Condition: Very good antique condition. Only the lower part shows minor paint wear, otherwise the console is well preserved with no major damages

A rare and highly collectible signed Empire console table, both as fine furniture and as an exceptional work of art. Perfect for collectors of Empire period antiques and luxury interiors.

SPEETH (Peter Speeth, Mannheim 1772-1831 Odessa), Frankfurt ca. 1810. Wood, finely carved with winged lions, rosettes, meander band and decorative frieze, and painted white and parcel-gilt. White/gray speckled marble top, mirrored back. With an old label of the Würzburg Residence. Paintwork restored, with some losses. Lower base plate and parts of the rear wall, probably later. 109x34x99 cm.
