Magnifico divano siriano risalente alla seconda metà dell’Ottocento, interamente realizzato a mano in legno pregiato con intarsi in madreperla e legni policromi.

Il pezzo si distingue per la ricchezza della decorazione a traforo e per la raffinata lavorazione a motivi arabescati tipica dell’artigianato di Damasco.
Sulla parte superiore dello schienale è presente un’incisione in lingua araba che recita:
"الصبر مفتاح الفرج"
“La pazienza è la chiave del sollievo”
Un messaggio di saggezza e serenità che impreziosisce ulteriormente quest’opera d’arte.

Il divano conserva la tappezzeria originale d’epoca, con segni del tempo e usura compatibili con l’età, che ne attestano l’autenticità e il fascino antico.
Strutturalmente non proprio solido, è consigliato l'utilizzo come elemento decorativo o scenografico, date le sue caratteristiche artistiche e collezionistiche. Andrebbe rinforzato con un falegname o restauratore per un utilizzo sicuro.
